Barrett Development & Construction Management exists to represent the Owner's financial interest by providing services in all phases of the development process from a pre-design development proforma to financial analysis for the planning, design, construction and closeout processes.

Mr. Barrett was responsible for the programming and construction management of the Diagonal Mar Retail Center located in Barcelona, Spain. The Project consisted of 1,147,124 square feet of retail (including five underground parking levels for 5,200 cars), 1,538,680 square feet of public parks, 582,000 square feet of residential and a design/build cultural center for the City of Barcelona. The Diagonal Mar project concluded the redevelopment of the Barcelona waterfront, which started with the construction of the Olympic Village and several related urbanization projects.

He has been responsible for notable projects such as the renovation of the Renaissance Centre in Detroit, the construction of the 50 story high-rise office project commonly referred to as the R. R. Donnelly building located at 77 West Wacker Drive in Chicago and he has been nationally recognized for the historical renovation of the Chicago Title and Trust Building, in Chicago.

Mr. Barrett was responsible for strategic planning for Rubloff Inc. development activities, and was a member of the Board of Directors of its subsidiary construction organization (Lake Michigan Construction Company).

During Mr. Barrett's career, he was construction manager for Neiman-Marcus and The May Department Stores where he managed all new property design and construction programs throughout Missouri, California, Oregon, Ohio, Texas, and Illinois. In total, his range of experience includes over 30 million square feet of regional shopping centers, department stores, housing, office high-rise, hospitals and industrial projects.
